About

HISTORY

Grant and Jill Crombie left their farm in the central wheat belt to take over the lease of the Wattle Grove Plant Farm as a family business in October 2005. The Wattle Grove 'Tree' Farm was first established by David and Margaret Cook in the mid 1980's.

David and Margaret ran it as a family business in Wattle Grove with their son Danny until we leased it in 2005.

When we first began our lease we changed the name to 'Wattle Grove Plant Farm' as we sell a wide range of plants not just trees.

Originally our core business was providing native plants for Retail businesses, Market gardeners and Landscapers. We also grew plants under contract for grow-out nurseries who planted them up into 45litre and 100litre bags.

STAFF

Grant works full-time in the Nursery managing the day to day work and liaising with our clients and Jill is responsible for the book work.

In 2006 our Sam joined us after finishing at Cunderdin Agricultural College and for the last couple of years Russell Chandler has worked for us as a part-time Horticulturist. We also employ Thomas Vary through a special employment scheme and often have students from the Cannington Educational Support Programme helping in our Nursery.

TODAY

Today our core business continues to be growing sun hardened, drought tolerant native plants that will survive our mediterranean climate. We have widened our customer base to provide for many Shires and Cities, private customers as well as the Retail businesses and Landscapers.

Grant has established a wide network with other wholesale nurseries and is able to provide a range of plants to meet the needs of our customers. Since its beginning we have been located in Wattle Grove but due to the land being subdivided into a housing estate from late 2013 we re-located nearby to 31 White Road in Orange Grove.
